Literacy Class - Poetry

Over the last 2 weeks, our literacy class have been reading and writing poems. We have read bout poems to do with the war, linking to our inquiries about technology in WW1. This week we have been reading and analysing a poem by Selina Tusitala Marsh called 'Afakasi Chameleon.

We chose this poem because it links in with Samoan Language week. Our learning intention: WALT - analyse the language features used in poems.
We analysed the poem in small groups, then shared with the class the language features we came up with and our understanding of what the poem was about.

Here is an example of our completed task (By Aaron Khan) - a chameleon (a visual representation of our culture), and a poem to describe our culture, ancestors and family.
