AIM for Success

Today, our Year 7 & 8's were treated to words of wisdom from a great motivational speaker - Mr Andrew Patterson.

Mr Patterson is not new to us here in the senior block but every time he comes around, he always has a new gem to share with us. Today was no different.

A + I = M

Aspiration + Inspiration = Motivation. This was a powerful message and formula especially for our Year 8 students who are coming to the end of their Primary School years and heading into high school. What do you ASPIRE to be? Who around you INSPIRES you? This is what MOTIVATES you to do what you do!

Patterson shared inspirational stories about an 11 year old boy making a difference in someones life, as well as his own story of being stuck in a long queue of travellers whose flights had to be rescheduled. Another one of Patterson's talking points was to "Be a GIVER"! This means thinking and taking care of others rather than being a taker and always thinking about yourself. Our whole block definitely enjoyed their talk with Patterson and I'm sure they all had plenty of precious 'gems' to take away from it. So remember to use this formula to AIM for success and continue to be a Giver!
